HACIENDA is a nicely-bred Kheleyf colt who looks capable of scoring on debut, while Mnasikia has experience and looks the main danger. The latter, trained by Luca Cumani, has an official mark of 64 after three reasonable runs in this sphere, including when runner-up to Mark Johnston's Capricornus over course and distance last time. It is interesting that connections keep him in maidens rather than go handicapping, and he is clearly the one to beat, but he does not look anything special and is vulnerable. Miereveld looks likely to be better when sent handicapping, but Cross The Boss is going the right way and would be interesting if backed. Another well-bred newcomer is Blues Music, who costs 105,000 euros as a foal and has both speed and stamina in the pedigree, presumably the latter having come to the fore at home given today's introductory trip. However, Hacienda is the eyecatcher. Mark Johnston has had his string in fine form this winter and, although not nearly expensive-a-purchase as some, his pedigree suggests that this will be his trip, and he won't be found wanting for fitness, so we'll side with him.
