We kick off with division one of a wide open Amateur Riders' sprint handicap in which we give a tentative nod in the direction of MISS FIREFLY after her near miss last time ahead of Towy Boy with Outer Hebrides also making the shortlist. Towy Boy is still a maiden after 34 starts, which about sums up the standard of many of these. He did find just the one too good over seven furlongs last time and while he is not one to trust fully this race won't take much winning. But given that one is yet to win we prefer the chances of Miss Firefly. Ron Hodges' charge as got up to score on the turf and only found a subsequent winner too good in a similar race last time. That form has further strength to it and a similar effort should be enough. Outer Hebrides is consistent and scored on his only previous course and distance run and with him dropping a couple of pound below his last winning mark he has every chance. Tamino was a scorer three starts back but looks a little high in the weights now so in a race where we find it hard to get excited about any of them we turn to Miss Firefly to build on her last run.
