Scamperdale has been running well on the Polytrack of late but has yet to prove that he is as effective on turf so he looks best watched and a better bet looks to be Australia Day, who gets the vote over Harry Gee. The last mentioned looks to be well enough treated but is hard to back with confidence on his two runs on turf this term so Geoff Wragg's gelding looks best watched. Emperor Court looks to be in the grip of the handicapper at present, while Proper has not progressed as much as may have been anticipated in recent starts. Jill Dawson gave little sign for encouragement on her recent return on turf and a better bet looks to be Australia Day. Paul Webber's gelding has shown gradual improvement in recent starts and he is taken to gain a deserved success.
