Kinglami has not won since landing last year’s renewal off today’s mark while Evanescent won a couple of plating races in soft ground before running poorly at Chepstow. Fear Or Favour is also upped in class as he bids for a hat-trick but Bouclier drops down a grade after an outing over 5f at Epsom. Upstaging finished ahead of Jaywalker when second at Brighton recently and should be in the mix but another chance goes to MERHOOB as this is easier than his latest task at Kempton and John Ryan’s charge was placed at Ascot before that. Spring Fling remains 9lb higher than last year’s course and distance success and Sydney Ruffdiamond has proved best over the minimum trip so far.
