Scrutinise has a middle-distance pedigree and should do better next season, though he ran well enough on testing ground at Leicester to put himself in the frame for this. Searching ran at that same meeting and put a moderate debut behind him with a very good run behind the odds-on Shakopee with Duke Of Sonning well beaten so he should be thereabouts at the finish. MAGIC DANCER came here for his debut at the beginning of the month and didn't appear to be fancied but was beaten only a nose by the odds-on Rocky Rider. With further progress virtually guaranteed, he should go one better.
