Civil War's two victories last spring included one over this track and trip and if the ground eases further it would be no shock to see him return with another victory. All Talk N No Do appeared to find 1m4f too far at Lingfield in December having won over two furlongs shorter there earlier so the jury is out as to whether he can last out here. Light Of Asia didn't go up much for landing a class 5 handicap at Haydock but hasn't been able to cope with the slight step-up in grade subsequently while Felix Fabulla was beaten in a moderate Southwell handicap last month though that was his first start since the summer of 2013. DRAGOON GUARD doesn't look an obvious choice but he has more potential than most of these and though not showing much in his two starts this season he's now likely to get the test of stamina he requires and with his rider able to claim 5lb he looks well enough treated to gain his first victory on Turf.
