Verdict
Outbox was only beaten half-a-length in this grade last time at Newmarket but Georgia Dobie can’t use her claim on Archie Watson’s front-runner in this and her mount hasn’t won in this country in more than two years. Solid Stone has disappointed since winning the Huxley Stakes at Chester last year but Candleford looks to be on the way back and this is his trip. Winner of the Great Voltigeur a year ago, this is a massive drop in class for Deauville Legend though supporters will need to put a line through a shocking performance in the King George at Ascot last month. LION’S PRIDE is the unknown quantity and his Kempton victory is working out well. He wouldn’t be taking his chance in this elevated grade unless connections thought him capable and a three year-old has won this in three of the last four years.
