Verdict

The handicapper may have finally got hold of A One, so we will take a chance on Pacific Ocean, with Recount rated as a big danger. Pacific Ocean takes a slight drop in trip after just being touched off over a mile and three furlongs at Warwick last and it could just do the trick. His previous effort over a mile is starting to look quite decent form as the fifth home has landed a good handicap, and the runner up Treetops Hotel ran a great race in a competitive ladies handicap at Ascot on Saturday. At the weights today he must have strong claims. A One was all out to hold off the challenge of today's rival Recount at Sandown last time. The runner-up is only slightly better off at the weights, but was only beaten a short head and so should be able to reverse the form. Watch the market for any move on the selections stable-mate Efrhina, who is superbly bred and comes here following a recent spin over hurdles. So a very tricky contest but Pacific Ocean is the one that gets our vote.
