In depth

Verdict

Barsanti has been competing in Group 2 company without success since winning a Listed race at Ascot in May for which he’s penalised. He’s still preferred to both Desert Encounter and Euginio, who have both placed in Listed races this year, but GAME STARTER is an intriguing contender. Not seen at the track since winning a handicap over 1m4f in September last year, the Godolphin colt has entries in both the Irish St Leger and Long Distance Cup later in the season so big things seem to be expected of him. He gets a tentative vote on his return and is preferred to struggling stablemate Prize Money and the filly Cribbs Causeway, who has a tough task on these terms. 6.15
