Ellen's Girl was good value for her latest success at Bath and is taken to complete the hat trick and defy her latest penalty, getting the vote ahead of World Spirit and Pirouetting. The last mentioned is better than she showed at Newmarket last time and has slipped to a fair mark so has to be respected. Pat Eddery's Cavort has claims on the pick of his form but is inconsistent, while Cape Velvet remains a maiden and it is hard to see her opening her account today. World Spirit has shown a consistent level of form of late and has to be respected but Ellen's Girl looks a step ahead of the handicapper still and she is preferred.
