An interesting handicap in which Paceman is selected ahead of Nicada and Imply. The selection has been raised just three pounds for a Lingfield victory last time and, despite the slight drop in trip today, this colt - who was originally entered to run in the King George V at Royal Ascot during the week - must surely be competitive today. Imply hails from the in-form John Gosden stable and although his win came on Wolverhampton's surface last time, the winner has gone on to finish runner-up off a mark of 81 so, racing from 82, he looks reasonably rated. Nicada, who is five pounds better off for four lengths with Baltic Belle based on recent course and distance form, was noted staying-on there on her first run for 167 days and she is entitled to build on that. Of the others, even though he finished behind Eau Good last time, Count Ceprano is open to improvement on Turf and has a weight-pull from that race, and the likes of First To Call and Highland Harvest cannot be ruled out of good runs. Finally, Fifty Cents comes here as a lightly-raced horse of talent but will he like give in the going is the question, and the enigmatic Cassiara could also go well. For the selection, though, we will stick with Paceman.
