HEY MR placed off today’s mark at York on his seasonal debut. A novice victory in soft ground last term suggests he’ll handle today’s underfoot conditions and Roger Varian’s charge gets the vote. It was fast going when Warrior Brave won at Goodwood last month with Nelson Gay back in third but the latter may cope with today’s heavy ground better having earlier won on the Fibresand at Southwell. Fantasy Master has plenty to find with a couple of these and Kool Moe Dee struggled in testing conditions at Haydock last time.

Warrior Brave 10-3 (9-7) Held up in close 4th, good headway between horses over 1f out, ridden to lead just inside final furlong, edged left, ran on well, won at Goodwood 5f hcp (3) gf in Apr beating Cahors (8-5) by 1/2l, 4 ran.
Hey Mr 10-3jfav (8-10) Behind, soon pushed along, switched left and headway over 2f out, went 3rd over 1f out, held but kept on final furlong, 3rd of 13, 3 1/4l behind Bedford Flyer (9-2) at York 5f hcp (3) gd in May.
Kool Moe Dee (IRE) 11-2 (9-7) Slowly away and towards rear, headway going easy 2f out, shaken up and chased leader over 1f out, no extra and weakened closing stages, 4th of 9, 8l behind Mo Celita (9-2) at Haydock 6f hcp (4) hvy in May.
Fantasy Master 50-1 (8-3) Awkwardly away, towards rear, pushed along halfway, never on terms, last of 14, 13l behind Jumby (9-4) at Newmarket 6f hcp (2) gd in May.
