A very competitive contest this, as you'd expect for a listed race, and we'll side with Spanish Moon, ahead of Hatton and Tranquil Tiger. Most of these have won over this trip; the selection won a listed race at Ascot in May, and has since finished ahead of Hatton, who's also beaten and been beaten by Book of Music. Sir Michael Stoute's colt is versatile, able to cope with differing surfaces, but prefers it to be on the firmer side. Only Hatton's carrying more weight; he's aiming for a return to the form that saw him win the Winter Derby, and Clive Brittain's putting blinkers on him for the first time. Tranquil Tiger has the highest official rating, and won a listed race at Pontefract in June. He's not followed that up since, but has to be respected. It's not a race that has been kind to favourites; stalls 2 and 3 have provided the winners over the last 4 years, but we don't fancy either Supersonic Dave or Ronaldsay, preferring instead the claims of Spanish Moon.
