In depth

Verdict

Kerkyra Island, a daughter of Exceed And Excel, is the obvious one to note in the market on debut for the Andrew Balding team in what appears a relatively ordinary maiden. She is fitted with a hood for debut though and therefore there may be a temperament issue or two. Flamenco Fan, unplaced on her reappearance run in France, displayed more than enough ability in both juvenile starts at Newmarket to suggest she'll be a leading player here but similar comments also apply to LOVE TROPHY POWER (NAP) and the form of the Varian runner just rates that bit stronger and hopefully she can defy an absence of 236 days on reappearance for her powerful yard.
