In depth

Verdict

FAST AND HOT pulled readily clear of Essenaitch over this trip on soft ground at Newbury on Friday. That was an apprentices’ race so he avoids a penalty and, with Rossa Ryan taking off 7lb again, should be hard to beat if this doesn’t come too soon. The going may be a problem for the Kempton winner but Iniesta, a rare runner on the Flat for Fergal O’Brien, is an interesting runner given he won on the soft in Ireland. Hearty and the lightly-raced Rolling Dice may be best of the rest.
