In depth

Verdict

ARTSY showed nothing in three maidens before a comfortable victory at Chelmsford where she relished dropping down to this trip. She's 7lb higher but is still on a low enough mark to complete a double. Fashionata looked to have a difficult task in a Beverley maiden but did it nicely and makes her handicap debut while Sir Theodore enjoyed ploughing through the mud at Lingfield and would be a threat if the ground turned testing. Wiley Post won a nursery in good style at Chepstow but went up a massive 15lb and was unable to cope on this track next time. Broughtons Fancy has had all of her runs to date over 7f but has shown enough pace to suggest this trip won't be a problem. Freeze Style makes his handicap debut but hasn't been done any favours. Shakerattlenroll won over the course and distance in the summer and didn't run badly when stepped up markedly in class at York.
