We like the look of the Clive Cox-trained PERFECT CLASS who gets our vote over Desert Kiss and Resort. There was little to choose between Perfect Class and Desert Kiss at Bath last month when Perfect Class narrowly prevailed. Desert Kiss is better off at the weights tonight but we feel there could be more to come from Clive Cox's filly and she can confirm superiority. Resort looked a little one-paced at Newmarket when last seen out but she is an unexposed filly and there could be more to come from her. Trumpet Lily and Flying Valentino have both won over the course and distance and they are worth considering along with Cumana Bay. An open event and the narrow vote goes to Perfect Class.
Trumpet Lily 33-1 (9-12) Took keen hold, held up in mid-division, not much room over 2f out, found little when in the clear soon after, 9th of 14, 3 1/2l behind Alsace Lorraine (9-13) at Goodwood 1m 1f fll hcp (2) gd in Jul.
Desert Kiss 7-2fav (9-13) In touch, headway on outside over 2f out, ridden to challenge and hung left 1f out, disputed lead throughout final furlong, not quicken near finish, 2nd of 9, hd behind Perfect Class (8-8) at Bath 1m flls hcp 0-80 (4) gd in Jul.
Cumana Bay 9-2 (9-7) Led over 1f, chased leaders, pushed along over 2f out, kept on same pace inside final furlong, 5th of 11, 2 1/2l behind Spinners End (9-2) at Salisbury 7f 3yo hcp 0-85 (4) gf in Jul.
Flying Valentino 14-1 (9-7) Tracked leaders, lost place over 2f out, eased entering final furlong, last of 15, 20l behind My Gacho (9-5) at Brighton 1m hcp 0-80 (4) gf.
Resort 7-1 (8-12) Led, ridden and headed over 1f out, stayed on inside final furlong, 3rd of 8, 2 1/4l behind Invisible Man (9-3) at Newmarket 1m 3yo hcp 0-90 (3) gd in Jul.
