CANDLESHOE can get punters off to a good start at the main expense of Fair Nella and Emirates Hills. Richard Hannon has done well this season with his juveniles and this filly by Danehill Dancer looks worth another chance. She was a little disappointing at Goodwood over 7f last time but she had run well on her debut here and it is too early to be writing her off now that she is back over 6f. Fair Nella had an excuse last time at Bath when her poor draw may have been a contributory factor in her below-par run. However, like our selection she had previously run well here and it will be interesting to see if she can bounce back tonight. Emirates Hill will find this easier than the hot Newmarket maiden she ran in last time, but she will need to find some improvement to get competitive. There are some interesting newcomers here and the market will be a guide to their chance. It could be particularly significant if there is market support for the Barney Curley-trained No Explaining as the yard are very shrewd. However, Richard Hannon's Candleshoe carries our support.
