Verdict

Halsion Chancer's overall form is starting to look patchy so preference is for the consistent Stamford Blue ahead of China Cherub and Alfresco. The last-named is interesting as he ran his best race for a while when fitted with a visor at Lingfield. However there is no guarantee that he will repeat that run and the drop to six furlongs may not be ideal either as he searches for his first turf success. Instead, it is Stamford Blue who can take this. Second on each of his last two runs, the selection looks ready to strike and he can get the better of stablemate Done Pele who knows how to win here. China Cerub has been keeping his form fairly well, whilst fellow course and distance winners Buy On The Red and Makabul both have a bit to prove at present. Dressed To Dance needs watching in the betting; however it is Stamford Blue who gets the vote.
