An interesting contest with a clutch of well-bred newcomers taking on some promising performers. Mick Channon has made a good start to the campaign, particularly with his two-year-olds, and Queen's Gift, who is a daughter of Alzao out of a Common Grounds mare, warrants close inspection. The market will provide more clues as it will for Richard Hannon's debutant, Scythian. However, this yard's youngsters tend to need their first outing more than most and the son of Selkirk may be best watched on this occasion. Of those with experience, Ivory Venture looks best following an encouraging debut outing at Kempton. Dean Ivory's charge made good late headway to finish third, beaten three lengths behind Monsieur Boulanger, having run green in the early stages and is entitled to improve. However, it may be prudent to side with Queen's Gift to give her stable another juvenile maiden event.
