Verdict

Athlon was only beaten a head stepped up to this trip at Bath last month. Fran Berry has chosen Lingfield third Cosmic Storm ahead of The King's Steed so he warrants respect and looks the best of those sharing top weight in this. Clive Cox has been firing in the winners lately and PERFECT QUEST has run well in a couple of recent starts over a mile at Nottingham. She was keeping on nicely on both occasions so this step up in distance should suit. Lingfield winner Betsalottie probably wouldn't want any more rain but may be best of the rest.
