In depth

Verdict

Cases can be made for the majority of this field but we'll take a chance with Hadron Collider and nominate It's My Day and Sleepy Hollow as the dangers. The selection didn't really enjoy the run of the race at Bath last time when finishing strongly despite meeting a little trouble in running. He steps up in trip here and should find it easier to get into his stride earlier on this track than he did at Bath. He looks sure to go close. It's My Day did okay last year but there should be more to come from him over middle distances this season. He ran respectably on his reappearance at Lingfield, making progress from the rear, and should be able to step up on that run with John Egan always a positive booking for the yard. Sleepy Hollow lacks the benefit of a run but Hughie Morrison's horses are running well and she won her final start at two impressively. She looks capable of winning from higher marks than her initial rating and is one to watch with interest but, with race fitness assured, Hadron Collider is preferred.
