Not a strong maiden by any stretch of the imagination but Lady Herries is not known for keeping older horses in training without good reason and we select Lasanga at the expense of Sleeping Indian and Russian Applause. Lasanga's recent form has been little to write home about but its worth remembering that he kept close tabs on Fremen in a race at Windsor last year and any reproduction of that form would give him a solid case. Sleeping Indian makes a belated debut for George Strawbridge and John Gosden. This well-bred sort is related to a number of past winners including listed placed Jalisco, Felicity, and Spanish Star. Russian Applause demonstrated considerable improvement in a Warwick maiden. The step up to an extended mile should suit on that evidence and he should be duly watched in the market. Bluefield has had a year off since finishing third to Salford City in a maiden at Newbury. Kindness has had 25 unsuccessful starts thus far and looks booked for a 26th. With the remainder not showing anything worthwhile in their profiles, Lasanga should be fit enough to do himself justice and looks to be just about the percentage call.
