A good contest, and a tricky one with a number to consider, but Doris Souter might just provide the answer. She runs here under a three-pound penalty for a cosy Newbury win and we are prepared to follow the old adage of following a filly in form. It is far from cut and dry, though. Colophony ran away with a modest Haydock maiden and we'll learn more about him today. Sailing Through comes here seeking a three-timer, her latest victory coming over course and distance. She should run well, although a touch more is required. La Muette won here as a two-year-old and she looked to be coming to hand at Salisbury last time. Kirk Wynd disappointed at Ascot last time after a runaway win at Chepstow the time before. The jury is still out on her but she certainly has talent. Dovedon Hero just got home in a modest Bath maiden last time and, along with Cill Droichead, is likely to be available at a big price. It all points back to Doris Souter, also a course and distance winner, and she is our selection.
