Pastoral Pursuits absolutely hacked up at Chepstow last time and might just be able to score again, although it looks a tricky event. Of his opponents, King Carnival comes here on the back of two straight wins, the latest being a decent nursery. He is now stepped up in class but cannot be discounted and certainly will not go down without a fight. Fortunately was well held on her only run so far over six but, when running well after a slow start in a Group 3 event behind Majestic Missile at Goodwood last time, suggested that that trip might now suit, so she cannot be ruled out. Baltic Wave also has solid form, although the concession of weight to the field will not make things easy for him. Western Run has not been seen since winning the first two-year-old race of the season back in March. Nicely bred, he adds intrigue to the contest but others are given preference over him today. Overall preference, once again, goes to Pastoral Pursuits.
