In depth

Verdict

Vitare was a beaten favourite yet again at Ripon last month. He has only run over the minimum trip once before and finished last so ROYAL APPOINTMENT looks a better option. Owned by the Cheveley Park Stud, Bob Cowell’s colt has finished second in small fields at Chepstow and Bath so far and can make it third-time lucky today. Ice Station Zebra’s pedigree suggests she’ll need a bit further but she wouldn’t need to be a world-beater to make a winning debut.
