Verdict

Shargiah won over a mile at Ripon last July and wasn’t beaten far on his reappearance at Lingfield, though steps up a couple of furlongs for this. Eskendash won a Kempton maiden in March on his debut on the Flat having finished second four times in bumpers. He can’t be ignored and Captain Courageous won at Chelmsford in February, though couldn’t follow up off this mark at Lingfield. PRENDERGAST HILL (NAP) won off a 2lb higher mark over course and distance last summer and will be all the better for a narrow defeat on his comeback at Kempton so gets the nod.
