CHIEFOFCHIEFS ran well in a couple of Newmarket maidens last summer and Charlie Fellowes’ four-year-old could be up to beating younger rivals on his reappearance. Cross Step carries the Godolphin first colours but was last on his debut at Chelmsford last season and William Buick rides the Dubawi newcomer Silken Dancer. There was some promise in Sea Skimmer’s fifth at Newbury in October and he’s the type to do better as a three-year-old. Casement is a half-brother to three winners and may be a better long-term prospect than stablemate Clemento. Kings City has a nice pedigree but may need the experience today.
