Verdict

A tricky start to proceedings with few of these arriving in any kind of form. First Rebellion is an exception but seems much better on an artificial surface nowadays, as does Reginald Claude. Madame Kintyre would have been the selection had this been over 5f but she struggles to stay much further and the well-treated Courageous seems to have lost his enthusiasm. ILLUSTRIOUS PRINCE won off a 4lb higher mark at Goodwood in August when Cocohatchee was well behind - he could defy top weight.
