Verdict

SAMI BEAR is very unexposed on this surface and only a pound higher than when scoring at Kempton at the start of the year, though regular pilot Freddie Gordon can only claim 5lb nowadays. Jack Sprat got off the mark at Huntingdon earlier this month on good to soft and Ventara was second on his handicap debut at Chepstow. Robber's Bridge started favourite at Uttoxeter last month after placing three times over the summer but weakened quickly once headed and is now 0-14 while the three-year-old Makanao was well beaten at Sedgefield after finishing second at Fontwell.
