In depth

Verdict

A poor turn out here with a confident TEAMtalk choice going to Toby Balding's Chief Cashier who put in an excellent performance at Cheltenham five days ago. Any reproduction of that form will see him score in receipt of weight from his more fancied rivals. He could 'bounce' however so The Gene Genie may be worth looking at following a couple of runs to blow away the cobwebs. He ran the best race of his life at this track last season though connections will be hoping for overnight rain. Valfonic is respected having proved he enjoys winning in the past. This is a better race than he has won before and will need to have improved over the past few months. Per Amore looked to have improved over the winter and if reproducing his effort last time out at Ludlow holds every chance for his in-form yard.
