Verdict

Alan King has a fine record in this and has won the last two. SCEAU ROYAL is much better known as a chaser having won four in succession, including the Grade 1 Henry VIII Novice Chase at Sandown, beating Simply Ned in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham in November. But he was a close third to Yanworth in this two years ago and looks the one to be on despite being well beaten behind Altior last time. Grand Sancy has to concede him 2lb courtesy of his Listed victory at Haydock but he was only just touched off in the Grade 1 Tolworth at Sandown last month and is an obvious threat. Vision Des Flos chased home Buveur D'Air at Sandown and though never likely to catch the winner he had the remainder well beaten. Jolly's Cracked It is smart on his day though probably just below this level, a remark that also applies to the prolific Unison, the winner of 15 of his 58 starts.
