In depth

Verdict

Placed off high marks over hurdles already, JOLY MAKER (NAP) made a winning start over fences at Southwell last week. With Jonjo O’Neill taking off 3lb again, the five-year-old is hard to oppose. Viking Ruby was probably beaten when falling two out at Worcester last month but this look less competitive. Debrouillard has shown ability and has had a rest since pulled up at Wetherby in April but Far Bihoue was never travelling at Fontwell in August when suffering a similar fate.
