In depth

Verdict

PYRFORD PIPPIN had shown absolutely nothing before dead-heating for second in a triple photo-finish at Cork so she's obviously on the upgrade and though that was over three miles she shouldn't be inconvenienced by stepping down and gets the nod. Platinum Empress is another who made great strides on her latest start when facing this sort of ground for the first time while the going has come right for Glendine River, who completed a two-day double on the Flat and over hurdles at Tramore last summer and has had a couple of recent runs on the level. Delayed Eloquence has yet to reach a place in ten starts but hasn't been running badly and should be winning soon. Strike Is Back has only run in testing conditions but Hurry Kitty has a chance as she's just 4lb higher than her victory at Tramore in October and she's won here.
