In depth

Verdict

FEVER PITCH made a promising racecourse debut at Leopardstown and showed the benefit with a fine effort at Punchestown last month when just failing to catch O Fortuna in a driving finish. That's easily the best form on offer here and further progress looks guaranteed. Born To Excel has a penalty to carry for his victory on the Flat at Gowran in August but that was his only success in 14 starts. Clara More hadn't been showing much before a greatly improved run in a Downpatrick handicap at the beginning of the month and should reach a place at least as the remainder have shown nothing.
