In depth

Verdict

It's 500 days since JEREMYS JEWEL finished a close fifth in a Grade 2 bumper at Leopardstown, easily the best form on view here, and if she's ready after a long absence she will take some beating. Granny Lowrie, first past the post in a Kilbeggan maiden hurdle in August but disqualified for a banned substance, pulled hard in a Limerick bumper in December but still ran well for second and looks the main threat. Battle Frontier was leading at this trip when tackling 2m4f on heavy going at Tipperary so dropping back shouldn't be a problem and he holds Major Wells on that run. Time Gents showed massive improvement when runner-up at Tramore while the newcomer Eco Pete has a stamina-laden pedigree.
