In depth

Verdict

Winning bumper Staging Post hadn't shown much over timber before a surprise victory in a course and distance maiden. He meets stronger rivals here including Daicheadacuig, who was always travelling like a winner at Kilbeggan. Willie Mullins saddles two and Elite Charboniere made all at Leopardstown but couldn't handle the step up in class at Punchestown and will be conceding 14lb to stablemate STATUAIRE (NAP), who couldn't have been more impressive on her debut for the yard at Downpatrick so gets the nod. Persia beat a huge field in a Punchestown maiden and is an obvious threat and Listowel winner Wouldn't You Agree is by no means out of this.
