Verdict

JOYEUX MACHIN gets the nod despite making his debut over fences. He was an easy winner over timber here in May and though rated 11lb lower over hurdles than Ballyadam the latter has so far failed to replicate that form over fences. He was beaten a long way into second behind Hercule Du Seuil at Ballinrobe, with Prairie Dancer well beaten, and the winner's yard is represented by Hubrisko, who takes a big drop in trip after two runs over three miles. Mars Harper has more experience than these but didn't run well in his last two starts after finishing runner-up in a Grade B handicap at Leopardstown.
