In depth

Verdict

An interesting start to proceedings. Halsafari and The Caddy Rose share top rating and the former arrives in very good form having won a similar contest at Limerick last month, though he is closely matched with Deal With It on earlier Fairyhouse running. Another recent Limerick winner, Denham Hana, has untapped potential and Pont Aven is due a win, though will have stamina to prove over the trip. ASK HEATHER has no concerns on that score and it looks as though Declan Queally’s mare has come on in leaps and bounds for a spell hunting. She was always travelling best in a Clonmel handicap when last seen and can continue heading in the right direction. Baily Gorse may need more time but has hinted at ability.
