In depth

Verdict

A very low-grade handicap which won’t take much winning. Veteran Soul Season, a course and distance winner, could figure if getting a run from his reserve spot but he needs three to come out. SCOTCH QUAY (NAP) is likely to be a short price having won a shade cosily in first-time cheekpieces at Clonmel – Ricky Doyle again takes off 5lb. Percy B Shelley has been attracting some market interest in handicaps lately and is probably capable of better but it’s difficult to make a case for many of the others.
