Verdict

A poor turnout for this valuable prize but nevertheless it is a fascinating contest with Flagship Uberalles given the nod, ahead of Kadarann and Isio. The nine-year- old has been a tremendous servant to the Philip Hobbs yard, winning 14 races including two Cheltenham festival events, The Queen Mother Champion Chase and the Arkle Trophy. He showed his well being in the Tingle Creek three weeks ago when not beaten far by Moscow Flyer and he can add this prize to his collection. Kadarann though will be a major threat, having chased home Edredon Bleu at Exeter and Cenkos at Cheltenham. Pharbeitfrome appears to be out of his depth but Isio has the form to challenge the leading pair. Nicky Henderson¿s seven-year-old reverts to chasing following a promising run in a listed hurdle event, if reproducing his best chase form he could very well take advantage of the weight concession. So a very tricky contest but Flagship Uberalles just gets the vote.
