In depth

Verdict

A disappointing turnout of five can be narrowed down to just two here, Little Big Horse and our idea of the one to beat, Fair Prospect. The Paul Nicholls raider has to concede weight all round thanks to his splendid effort at Uttoxeter in beating the favourite Colonel Frank despite a five month absence from the track. A grand sort, he is every inch a chaser in the making, and that will be his career next term. For now though, he should pick up another prize and the scalp of Little Big Horse in the process. Sue Smith's charge was a beaten favourite at Sedgefield, going out like a light when last of three in the testing ground. He generally goes well here though and should redeem himself without being classy enough to put one over on the jolly.
