      Verdict

Not the strongest of Listed events, with just three of the declared runners having a rating of just above 100. They include Welsh Diva, Lady Lindsay and Monturani of the older brigade, but this could well go to one of the three-year-olds Fantasize or Irtahal, with the later getting a narrow vote. Marcus Tregoning's filly turned in an excellent effort, for one so inexperienced, in the Group 3 Musidora Stakes at the prestigious York meeting last week, over a trip which could prove to be beyond her best. This drop to a mile should suit her much better and she is taken to prove too strong for the only other three-year-old, Fantasize. From the all-conquering Stoute yard, this half-sister to the high-class Dazzle, confirmed her well-being when picking up a weak Listed event last month, and the bare form of that leaves her with something to find in this company. However, she is open to improvement, but she will need to under her penalty. Of the older horses, Welsh Diva looks to have plenty to prove after a dismal display at Newmarket behind Aldora, who should again come out on top of that pair, but the best of the older mares could be Monturani, who hasn't been seen since finishing down the field in last years French Oaks. Prior to that she had looked an above average filly and if stripping fit after her lay off, could have too much class for these. Lady Lindsay, who was runner-up to Dolores in this event last, is another lightly raced mare and has been missing since finishing a close-up fourth behind Fraulein at Ascot last July, but if stripping fit after her lay off, is another one to keep an eye on.
