A maximum field and a wide open handicap. The selection would have been Ile Michel, had he been better drawn, but he, like so many of the fancied runners, Mount Hesse Royal Storm and Silken Brief all look to have plenty on from difficult draws. A chance is taken with Eurolink Zante, who finished a never nearer 8th in this contest last year, having not had the best of runs. He is well drawn here, next to the rail and can run off a 12 lbs lower mark than last year, in what was a much better contest than this year. No shortage of dangers including top weight Grizedale, who is very much an under-achiever, but there is no doubt he is well treated, if putting his best foot forward. Master Robbie comes into this on the back of a sparkling display at Salisbury and isn't one to be left out of calculations, despite his penalty, which still leaves him well in here with likely favourite Ile Michel, having been beaten just over a length, when in receipt of 5lbs, yet meets his rival on 8lbs better terms, inclusive of his penalty.
