Folk Tune must hold leading claims here and he is selected ahead of Wee Bertie in the opening race. Much as he was disappointing at Newcastle last time, the form of either of his two races prior to that, when he finished second, could be good enough to land this. Turning to the others and Abstract Folly is a 58-rated Flat winner but he showed little on his hurdling debut; Barton Belle is a bumper winner but, in keeping with just about all of these, does not have hurdling form enough to make it a strong selection. Wee Bertie is a bumper winner that has also so far been disappointing over hurdles but, in a race that is modest, he can go well but, for the selecton, we will stick with Folk Tune.
