In depth

Verdict

Eagle Of The Glen finished tailed off on his hurdling debut at Kempton. Point Franklin was well behind Elogio in Aintree bumper in November but won over hurdles at the first time of asking at Kelso, beating favourite Clovis Boy by more than five lengths. The latter is now 7lb better off, though Aaron Anderson claims 5lb off Rebecca Menzies’ first string. BOIS GUILLBERT ran green at Ayr but still won with a bit in hand and, granted normal improvement, looks capable of defying a penalty in this.
