Annecherie beat Jake Peter narrowly in this a year ago but came into the race in much better form. She'll be 2lb lower today but the runner-up should have her measure this time. Bambeano scored over 1m4f last month and was staying on over that trip when placed early this month but Eastern Tornado was beaten just over a length in the former event having missed the break and can take revenge. MEPHISTO stepped up to this trip on the level for the first time and gained his first success. Always handy, he stayed on strongly in the straight and can defy a 6lb rise. Chutzpal scored over track and trip in November and wasn't suited by dropping back in distance last time so could provide the main threat.
