John Wade's veteran Jeringa is the only previous C&D winner in this modest handicap but his last success came in 2008 and he hasn't raced since pulling up at Sedgefield in April. ARCHIE'S WISH didn't appear to last home over 3m1f at Hexham last time but still finished ahead of Feeling Peckish, one of three racing from out of the handicap proper here. Micky Hammond's gelding was second in this last year off a 6lb higher mark and will rarely get a better chance to end his losing run. Gunner Rose may be too high in the weights now but Stolen Light is only a pound higher than when successful at Sedgefield in the spring and Hurricane Jack should strip fitter for a recent run at Perth. The others have little to recommend them.
