This race goes early for the benefit of the terrestrial television and with not much form to go upon, ACQUISITIVE is only a token selection against Pie At Midnight and Royal Riviera. The selection is from the family of Armaturk so the ground should not be a worry and if he has any of that horse's guile, he is worthy of his place on the shortlist. Pie At Midnight is related to a number of flat performers including Dispol Veleta and Dispol Foxtrot. Royal Riviera has a very likeable pedigree for this assignment. A half-brother to St Jean Cap Ferrat; he should go well. Rubaa was quietly backed at Lingfield on debut and allowed to come home in his own time. Chicklemix is a half-sister to a number of winning two mile hurdlers so a note in the market is advised. Red Option is a half-sister to dual purpose horse, Right Option. Her run in a weaker race at Towcester suggested that she could be worthy of respect next time around. Gary Derwin won his first race under rules at the last meeting and he will be able to take 10lb off Howard Johnson's debutant, Craig Lea. Danderek is a half-brother to Dancing Dik and as an inmate of the Richard Fahey yard, is sure to be popular with the Yorkshire punters. As ever, the market should serve as a very informative guide to the winner but without reference to that information, Acquisitive is selected.
