led from 1st, headed approaching 3rd, led 4 out, stayed on well from last
tracked leaders, chased winner from 3 out, hit next, one pace
led to 1st, with leader, led again approaching 3rd, mistake and headed 4 out, weakened approaching next
held up in rear and keen, mistakes, never dangerous, pulled up before 3 out
This race deserves more than a pitiful entry of four and GANSEY should account for Rory Boy. Sue Smith has introduced some decent chasers at this track and we are confident that the Haydock winner can add to that role of honour. He handled similarly testing conditions at the Merseyside venue so we are unconcerned by that aspect of this task. Rory Boy is a very likeable sort. Tenaciousness under pressure seems to be what this horse is all about though he has had the advantage of taking on horses that were probably less race fit than himself. Calin Royal was desperately disappointing at Market Rasen. There were clearly reasons for that but his fencing technique did not particularly impress. Allegedly Red will collect a minimum of 555 pounds if completing. He will need others to fail in order for him to succeed. Gansey is an exciting horse to watch and we believe he can continue his education here.
